In recent discussions on the behavior of traditional adhesives grave concern has been voiced about their suitability for conserving and lining of canvas paintings. At the same time, different institutes have carried out series of scientific studies on the effect of these adhesives on the materials of the paintings which were able to substantiate this concern. An attempt has been made to find a more expedient method to conserve paintings on canvas. -- AATA
