Abstract
Stratigraphically consistent radiocarbon dates (11, 170Ö5200 to 7960 Ö5160 yr BP) were obtained from scattered charcoal in a volcanic ash deposit. Anomalous dates (7802Ö5140 and 7150Ö5130 yr BP) were obtained from near-basal hearth charcoals, indicating these charcoals are younger despite their apparent conformity. -- AATA
