Underwater cleaning techniques and U.S. Navy antifouling paint can improve antifouling performance and extend service life. It is shown that a diver-guided multibrush unit is capable of removing heavy fouling without major damage to the antifouling paint, resulting in preventing speed loss, reducing the need for dry docking and improving sonar efficiency. -- AATA
