A part of the oral history archive of the Foundation of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works is presented in excerpts from an interview with the pioneer conservator, George L. Stout. Some of the subjects discussed are: other conservators during the early days at the Fogg Museum, the beginnings of <i>Technical Studies, and the attitudes of the art world towards conservation. While presenting his own history as a conservator, George L. Stout portrays a picture of the pioneer conservators at the Fogg as one of solidarity with aims and attitudes held in common. -- AATA
