An 18th century Mexican church, important for its inclusion of native elements in its decoration and richly ornamented Baroque main portal and <i>retablo, needed cleaning and repair. Appropriate historic investigations of the structure were done; and with the cooperation of local civil and ecclesiastical authorities, walls and surrounding church yards were cleaned, the church tower and courtyard walls were repaired and consolidated, wood members treated, and floors leveled and filled.
