Analyzes the quality and condition of the wooden structure of the Monteluce <i>Coronation of the Virgin</i> in the Pinacoteca vaticana, Rome. Examines the type of wood used for the painting's support (white poplar), its possible origins within Italy, and its state of preservation: moisture content, fungal and insect-related deterioration, panel structure, fiber and ring structure, seasoning, evidence of working techniques. The two parts of the panel come from different trees and show differences in workmanship. Concludes that the support, comprised of a main panel and lunette, was produced by two different artisans.
