Abstract
Poly(ethylene glycol 1540) was tested in the preservation of a water logged, carved, and painted wooden bowl from a prehistoric site on Patarata Island, Veracruz, Mexico. The procedure successfully employed water and Carbowax 1540 in a partial substitution process.
