Abstract
An account is given of the use of gamma-irradiation (<sub>60</sub>Co or <sub>137</sub>Cs) for disinfection and sterilization of archaeological and artistic objects from wood, paper, or textiles, or for conservation of such objects from wood, porous stone, or ceramics by impregnation with monomers (e. g. methyl-methacrylate) followed by irradiation-reduced polymerization. -- AATA
