Abstract
suitable for treating both the surface and the interior of the wood. New recipes containing binders and pigment below 15-20% must be found as if the solvent, binder and pigment are unsuitable and the solids content is too high the active materials are deposited at the surface of the wood. Planing techniques reveal the depth of efficacy; sufficient activity of insecticide may exist even at 4 mm. below thesurface but fungicidal efficacy was found at such depths only for a few preparations. Excessive absorption of primers in places through the wood containing water might lead to discoloration of the coating. -- AATA
