Electrothermal atomization is an established technique of atomic absorption spectrometry. This new approach uses extremely rapid discharge of a bank of capacitors to attain swift heating rates. Matrix and other interferences are considerably reduced and sensitivities are claimed to be noticeably improved. -- AATA
