The Cathedral Program (Programa Catedral) began in 2006 with the signature of an agreement of collaboration among several institutions which was expanded in 2010. This agreement contemplates a series of interventions in the main parts of the monument. Among these interventions is the preservation and restoration of the Portico de la Gloria, which will be carried out in three successive phases. The first phase of study, which is being currently completed, will culminate with the elaboration of a project of intervention and the beginning of conservation and restoration works in the whole ensemble. The elaboration of a detailed Plan for Preventive Conservation is also being completed.
