Abstract
In May 11th 2011 two earthquakes of great importance took place in Lorca. The serious damage which occurred in the buildings, affected to a greater or lesser extent, all the housing of Lorca and caused enormous damage in the city's cultural heritage, affecting both religious buildings as much of the civil construction. The Recovery Plan for Cultural Heritage of Lorca is eminently a practical document which will order and coordinate efforts to quantify and optimize investment for the management of the recovery of Lorca s Heritage. The Plan's main objectives are to provide an overview of the affected properties based in an assessment of the works necessary for the recovery and the establishment of guidelines for the restoration and rehabilitation. The Plan will focus on the most important buildings, as well as its movable heritage, archaeological or intangible assets that have suffered damage by the earthquake. The Plan will also provide a program to commit financial resources and establish appropriate management arrangements for this work within a maximum period of five years.
