Abstract
A laboratory instrument uses microwave attenuation to indicate fiber orientation anisotropy. The sensitivity of the instrument to fiber orientation, basis weight, furnish, moisture content, and density is discussed. The technique is recommended for online application if the results are corrected for varying moisture content. (Abstractor's note: article includes information on paper testing.) -- AATA
