Abstract
The computer system of the RLMB combines written archaeological sources from the Rhineland with aerial photos, thermal, or magnetic prospection data and maps (Deutsche Grundkarte 1:5,000). The hard-and software for all steps of data treatment from acquisition, input, processing and combination of the sources to the menu-driven use of the facilities are described. The system is still in an experimental phase, some future projects are outlined. Codes and procedures of the archaeological data base are listed in the appendices.
