Abstract
A restoration architect advises on repair and repainting building parts of cast, wrought, or sheet iron or zinc. Methods of repairing cast iron with epoxy-resin cement, brazing or welding with nickel alloy are noted as well as replacement of damaged parts with new castings. The author recommends specific solders for repairing iron or zinc sheets. More detailed advice on rust removal, priming, and painting follows.
