Abstract
The prevention of photo-induced discoloration of paper samples was investigated by applying several polyethylene glycols of different molecular weights. After 100 hours' exposure to the ultraviolet rays of a carbon arc lamp, the samples which had been treated with polyethylene glycols having a molecular weight higher than 1,000 in the amount of 20g/m<sup>2</sup> of paper were successfully prevented from discoloring. The discoloration was one third less than that of the untreated paper. -- AATA
