Abstract
Trends in the object conservation program of the National Park Service, in addition to continued expert treatment, include increased emphasis on preventive conservation involving both improved storage and exhibit planning, establishing regional laboratories while improving the facilities of existing laboratories, and expanding effective use of conservators outside the Service. Advocacy for conservation of museum collections should also increase.
