Microwear analysis of Rhenish stone tools from the Metal Age revealed changes of stone surfaces characteristic of worked material such as skin, bone, or wood. Changes through working of meat, fresh or dry skin, and leather can hardly be differentiated. Some inconspicuous stone cuts seem to be used more intensively than typical tools. Mainly skins or furs must have been worked at the early Iron Age site of Frimmersdorf 84/88. -- AATA
