Abstract
A survey of artists' canvas supplied by the British Colourmen Winsor & Newton from 1928 to 1951, through reference to their catalogues. By 1938 some of the best quality canvases had been discontinued and a number of cheaper canvases had been introduced. The range of the pre-war years was never restored. Changes in production methods during the period are discussed.
