An outline history of dendrochronology includes practicalities of the method (and warnings to the archaeologist), a description of the assembling of the Belfast curve, an indication of the gaps that remain to be filled, some applications of the method (e.g., to calibration of the radiocarbon curve), and an indication of future developments.
