Abstract
The recent discovery of a kilim in Istanbul initiated this study. Technically similar to the floral kilims from the Mosque of DivriZ9i, this new find differs significantly in composition. The weaving techniques of all the pieces are described in detail. The designs are compared with those on Ottoman tents. Egyptian infiuence is apparent in the weaving of these kilims. -- AATA
