Abstract
Described are the yarn pictures created by the Huichol Indians of the Sierra Madre in Mexico. These tablas originited in Nierikas art and depict the history and beliefs of the tribe. The colored yarn is pressed to sheets of wood dipped in wax in order to create intricate designs and pictures. -- AATA
