Abstract
The project regards the restoration of the building and its adaptation as a Government building. The project assesses the site in order to shape an adequately functional, historical and recognizable restoration of the building. The building is composed of two bodies: the cloister and the posterior body of the façade that looks out onto the Calle de los Maestres. These two bodies allow a distinct reading from one another. Attached to them is a third body, the Iglesia del Temple, with which is formed the historical site of a military and religious origin. It is separated in parts through the disentailment of the Church’s assets in the 19th century. The intervention will center on the first two bodies, with the exception of the lower floor whi9ch is currently occupied by the Police Department, with access from the Calle de los Maestres. The project proposes a technical correct and reliable materialization, which not only suits its foreseeable use, but also the necessary stages of work in order to sustain the administrative and representative activity of the building, with results that are recognizable, historically adapted and visually actractive.
