Abstract
The sterilization effects of high intensity Co60 gamma sources on paintings and ligneous panels have been studied. In particular a study has been carried out on the effects of gamma radiations on mushrooms in ligneous panels, on the control of the microbial growth and on the endurance of microorganisms. Finally, the effects of gamma radiations on adhesives and pigments have been studied.
