Abstract
The basic mechanical principles and properties of some new polymeric fibers are discussed from physical and chemical viewpoints. With the aid of technical graphs, tables, illustrations, and photographs, the results of stress, twist, and strain on these fibers are investigated. Since the tear strength of textiles remains a subject of utmost practical importance, the forces involved within and without the molecular structure of new fibers and their fabrics continues to demand serious attention. -- AATA
