Abstract
Rising damp in an old building, painted on the outside with an isophthalic-based system, may be remedied by (1) either the complete removal of the paint, or (2) its replacement with one allowing greater diffusion, e.g. an acrylic system, in combination with a barrier to humidity at the base of the building. -- AATA
