Computers are being used to assist in the restoration of Candi Borobudur, the biggest Buddhist temple in the world, in central Java. The restoration involves dismantling approximately 300,000 stones and statues, strengthening the hill, and identifying and refitting about 10,000 dislodged stones. The computer catalogs all important stones and statues, matches missing and broken stones, and compiles statistics for management. -- AATA
