Pottery samples from County Durham, the York Minister project, and a site in Sumatra have been dated using the quartz inclusion predose technique. Linear growth of thermolumi-nescence with beta-dose has been observed with most of the Durham and York samples, and no evidence of saturation of hole traps or luminescent centers. Tiles from an Fe-forging hearth below York Minister gave a date of ca. 800 A.D., agreeing with reported results on a neighboring hearth. -- AATA
