Brief notes on British sculpture are given. There has been neglect by both scholars and conservators. Much of it is in churches. The problem of rising damp is explained; treatments are mentioned including the insertion of a damp proof material under the sculpture as well as replacing deteriorated iron supports with non-corrosive metal. Sources of grants for conservation care are given. Two training programs are mentioned. The first is a two year post graduate Sculpture Conservation Course at Croydon College; the second is a monument training center at the Orton Trust, a national center for the training of stone masons at Little Oakley. -- AATA
