Abstract
Collagen fibers are built up from long polypeptide molecules, arranged along at least a part of their length in an extended parallel orientation, and held together by cross links derived from valency and other inter-atomic forces. This article involves the following topics regarding collagen: measurement of shrinkage temperature; shrinkage temperature of collagen;shrinkage temperature of leather; and, effects of heat and moisture on leather.
