A selection representing some of the brighter colors obtained from a study of wood dyeing using natural dye plants indigenous to the Scottish Highlands was examined colorimetrically. Washing and lightfastness were recorded. The original colors and the color changes during light fading were recorded in Munsell and CIELAB color coordinates. The colors and color changes are briefly discussed in terms of biosynthetic pathways and on related yarn colors used in Scottish tartans. -- AATA
