Abstract
Removal of the metal fittings revealed a composite staff of oak, willow and yew showing the marks of many repairs. Nails had been formed from small triangles of brass sheet rolled into a cone shape. Twenty separate parts in various kinds of brass comprise the crozier's casing. Three ancient repair strips and a piece of textile packing have been removed for separate display. -- AATA
