An important reassessment made of the so-called Leyden Papyrus X which contains lists of recipes of workshop practices in Egypt in the fourth century AD. This paper deals with the history of the document and with dating and provenance. It then considers in detail the recipes concerning the technology of gold and its use. -- AATA
