Abstract
Eight brass Roman coins were analyzed for eight elements by wet chemistry, wavelength dispersive and energy dispersive x-ray fluorescence, the latter with both radioisotope and tube excitation source, neutron activation, atomic absorption, and proton activation analysis. Most of the results were fairly close to the mean (concensus) values, though further from the mean than expected from the precision of the individual methods. A good reliability for the various methods is indicated.
