This technical note lists damage to glass: simple breaks, complex breaks and missing pieces. Restoration implies a reconstruction of missing areas. Epoxies, although they form irreversible bonds can be applied in thin layers to form joins. Taping, sand table and clamps are the main methods of supporting the object during treatment. All surfaces to be epoxied are cleaned with ammonia then acetone and all pieces assembled with tape on one undecorated side. Fluid adhesive applied with a spatula runs in along the cracks. A suitable resin for reconstruction of missing areas is colorless, transparent with low shrinkage and room temperature cure. Impressions can be taken from the object using dental wax coated with polyvinyl alcohol. For large losses a model is fabricated and a case from a silicone rubber mould made directly in the loss. Suppliers and description of various adhesives, casting resins and moulding materials is appended.
