Abstract
Historical and technical information about a carved and polychromed Saint Cornelius, probably made for the still existing chapel of St. Cornelius, which was restored in 1394. The statue could have been made by a Bruges workshop. The original polychromy and gilding was partially preserved, some parts seem to be restorations from the 15th century. The polychromy is an oil-paint (with some protein), except the azurite parts which are tempera.
