Abstract
The influence of various consolidants on wood properties was studied. Solutions of natural resins, synthetic polymers, and acrylic monomers (subsequently polymerized) were used. The effects of polar solvents in impregnation solutions were studied. The properties of treated wood are affected not only by the type and amount of consolidant in the wood, but also by the polarity of the solvents.
