Abstract
Until now, an appreciation of Joos van Cleve's work has been limited to his paintings. This article introduces the artist's underdrawing style as it is found among eight panels assigned to the master at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In addition, a previously anonymous 16th century drawing on paper is attributed to Joos on the basis of its similarity to the style of the underdrawings. -- AATA
