In the Leonardo da Vinci Exhibition held at the National Science Museum in Tokyo in 1974, fungi were found on the ceiling of the display and insect frasses were found on one of the panel paintings. The authors sterilized the fungi with a 1% solution of sodium pentachlorophenol, and then fumigated by using a 22g. /m.² dose of sulfuryl fluoride (Vikane) as the fumigant for 22 hours at 21°C and 70% R.H. to kill the insects. -- AATA
