The Rathgen Research Laboratory in Berlin uses neutron activation analysis, energy dispersive x-ray fluorescence, thermoluminescence-dating and Moessbauer-spectroscopy to examine works of art. Metals, ceramics and pigments from archaeological excavations, as well as ethnological objects are analyzed.
