Abstract
As part of the restoration of tapestries from the Regional Museum of Ptuj, Yugoslavia, the Institute for Textile Technology at the Technical Faculty of Maribor colored 80 different wool weft specimens. Among dyestuff suitable for the coloring of wool, 1:2 metal complex dyes which are especially lightfast were chosen. The author describes the dyeing process and the efforts made to come as close as possible to the color samples prepared by Mira Kovacevic-Ovcacik.
