Abstract
The recent restoration of the interior of Mt. Vernon is described from the standpoint of how it may have looked in 1799. The research, analysis and interior work of Conservator Matthew Mosca is the focus of the article. The vivid colors Mosca found and duplicated are in contrast to the relatively pale colors that had been most recently used on the woodwork and walls of Mt. Vernon's rooms.
