Abstract
Many studies have been carried out on methods to stabilise waterlogged wood, very few have investigated the wood's stability after consolidation. The article reports investigations into the behaviour of treated waterlogged wood in relation to changing relative humidity. The dimensional changes of the samples were measured using a computerised measuring system involving strain gauges. It was found that waterlogged wood after treatment continues to change dimensionally, but to a lesser extent, and to a degree dependent on the treatment given. The differences between tangential and radial changes differ from those of sound wood and depend on the treatment given. Photographs, diagram, graphs, tables, references.
