Abstract

A symposium on non-destructive tests on works of art was held in Berlin (Federal Republic of German) on 19-20 November 1987. The authors report on new developments on the use of x rays for the analysis of works of art, archaeological objects and mummies to determine the state of deterioration or to reveal falsifications.
