A practical approach to the conservation of plastics is presented with enphasis placed on those materials used as adhesives or for impainting. The identification of plastics and the effects of solvents on them are discussed. A chronology of plastics introduction dates is given, as well as the tables of solubility parameters for plastics and solvents and a list of plastic susceptibility towards solvents. 11 references.
