Abstract
The use of Fourier Transform Infra-red (F.T.I.R.) analysis and its application to the analysis of polymer items from the Victoria and Albert Museum are described. Comparisons are made with the more usual dispersive infra-red technique: various accessories for the equipment which are useful in the field of conservation are also described.
