Abstract
Using the humidity chamber it was possible to introduce moisture into an Indian cloth painting in a controlled manner. High RH was produced by saturated salt solutions. In conjunction with further structural treatment outside the chamber, deformations were corrected in a painting which was particularly sensitive to moisture and where physically wetting the object would certainly have resulted in damage. B/W photographs, diagrams, table, materials and suppliers, references.
