The excavation and recovery of the Tudor warship Mary Rose was a mammoth project which produced a large amount of waterlogged material and artifacts, including horn, bone, antler and ivory, to be conserved. Therefore large scale freeze-drying methods were used. Problems involved and conservation treatments of five types of artifact are described: bone fastenings, ivory and bone gaming pieces, archery horn, bone and wood handles, and bone and horn luxury items.
