Abstract
Semi-popular account of the progress of the excavation, the discoveries made, and the post-excavation process. The bath house has been known since the 1870s, but the present dig revealed evidence of farming from Late Bronze Age onwards. The first stone building dates to AD 180, including the baths, and in 280 the house and baths were much enlarged. Painted plaster, tessellated floors. Excavation techniques included the use of a micro-excavator or mini-JCB and metal detectors to check dug areas. -- AATA
