Abstract
There are many commercial operating conditions where the press section water removal process itself can result in an altered sheet structure. In addition to the normal sheet densification which occurs in the press, fluid shear forces can actually become great enough to change the relative spacing of fiber, fines, and fillers within the sheet. (Abstractor's note: Contains important references to the mechanics of wet pressing and a discussion on the wet pressing process.) -- AATA
